Here are some great RV camping tips for new campers.
When you consider what’s the best method to pack the most RV for your money, think about how every day will unfold on the road: will you be doing any outdoor activities like: hiking, canoeing, kayaking, biking, surfing, swimming, fishing and picnicking?
What to Pay Attention When RV Camping?
Useful RV camping ideas and tips include:
- how to buy a used recreational vehicle,
- some useful RV accessories that are a must when it comes to planning an enjoyable trip,
- where to find recreational vehicle parts at a cheaper price,
- how to make your own RV camping tents,
- some more advanced RV trip planning tricks and equipment
- and, of course, some of the best RV camping tips and information to help you decide what to bring along on your RV camping trip.
My first RV trip involved a little bit of research before I made my decision.
I did some online searches about used recreational vehicles and I found several good sources for me to purchase a used or inexpensive RV. One of the sources was an online auction website, which allowed me to bid on an inexpensive RV.
Keep It Simple – A Basic Camping Equipment is Okay
I found that an inexpensive, used RV with some basic camping equipment, would really be all I needed for my first trip. I looked at different maps, read up on the state, city and counties I planned to visit and chose a destination that I knew would be safe, easy to find a place to stay (booking a cabin in another state or even town would have been preferable) and close to some amenities I wanted to use such as grocery shopping and gas stations.
How to Pack for RV Camping?
I did my research on how to pack for my trip and made a couple of packing lists. One list included items such as a sleeping bag, sleeping pillow, raincoat, beach chair, waterproof matches, toiletries, folding chairs, and the other list contained items such as canned food, peanut butter, and energy bars. I went ahead and packed just the bare essentials for my first camping trip. Although it was a very simple trip, it turned out to be just what I needed.
If I were to go through the process of learning some more RV camping tips and techniques I might learn some things about packing for my first camping trip which I would not have done if I hadn’t done my homework first. For example, I might not have packed my water well and got my bearings wrong by putting the tent too far away from the water. That’s one of the easiest mistakes that new campers and hikers make. There are many more such examples, but that’s enough for now.
RV Camping Equipment
There are many ways that you can make sure that your RV camping trip is a success. One of these is to make sure that you get all of the necessary RV camping equipment packed into your trailer in advance.
For example, if you plan on doing some nighttime RV camping trips then you want to make sure that your RV comes with an emergency generator. This way if a power outage occurs at any time during the night you can rely on the generator to provide you with some light until the others can come up with their own light.
The same goes for your outdoor patio heater, if you don’t have one of these you will want to make sure that you bring one with you so that you can stay warm on those cooler nights.
Set Up a Dump Station to Avoid Mess
Another of the important RV camping tips that I hope to provide new or owners is to make sure that you have the proper RV camping equipment like the dump stations. Dump stations are vital when it comes to making sure that you have a place to dump your trash and waste. Without a dump station you will find that you have a difficult time just clearing out your campsite.
